ION Computer Systems To Introduce Support for
Dual-Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5100 Series

With New Levels Of Performance, Efficiency And Reliability

Hauppauge, New York - ION Computer Systems, Inc. today unveiled updates to its recently introduced A10 (1U) and A20 (2U) high performance servers. Both A10 and A20 servers will now support the innovative technology of the new Dual-Core Intel® Xeon® processor 5100 series on the Intel® S5000PAL server board to provide faster processing capabilities and to achieve increased system performance while lowering power consumption.

“With the addition of the Dual-Core Intel® Xeon® processor 5100 series to ION’s A10 and A20 rack mount servers, ION can once again deliver leading performance to our customers without depleting their power budgets or their fiscal budgets,” said Keith Josephson, Vice President of Engineering.

The Intel® S5000PAL motherboard brings new advancements in memory, power, I/O, and security, optimizing the platform for the demands of multi-core processing.

These processor and motherboard enhancements coupled with changes in the chassis design, which include high performance SAS or cost effective SATA disks as well as improved on board manageability are many of the changes incorporated in the A10 and A20.
